Tardit®MU is an innovative nitrogen fertilizer with a pronounced long-term effect. Chemically speaking it is a urea condensate. In a large reactor, the urea is bound to itself and other synthetic substances to create methylene urea chains of different lengths. The mixture is then dried and granulated in a complex process to form round, dust-free granules.
The long-term effect is the result of the different chain lengths. The effect is due in part to the water solubility of the chains: shorter chains can be dissolved in cold water, longer chains in warm water. Another part of the effect is the result of microbial degradation. For the fertilizer to work, microorganisms must break down or metabolize the chains one by one.
This produces nitrate. Only in this form can the plant eventually absorb nitrogen. In the interplay of these processes, short chains have a short-term effect, longer chains have a delayed effect, and the longest chains work last.
Thanks to this ingenious system, nitrogen is continuously formed for a longer period of time after the initial effect and the plant is optimally fertilized. In addition, no burns occur, even at high doses, as a large part of the active ingredient has a delayed release. Other benefits of the round, evenly sized granules: little dust, no arching in the fertilizer spreader, good spreadability and flowability and an even distribution of nutrients.
The product is also available in liquid form as Tardit®Liquid. This offers the option of spraying crops. The food adheres to the leaves and slowly releases its fertilizer to the plants.
